Saudi Smart City Conference 2017

In recognition of the need to move to a sustainable-based economy, as well as to help realize the Vision 2030 plan, the Saudi Smart City Conference had occurred between 16th and 18th May. Organized by the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the event participants and organizers did achieve some considerable progress.
“The ministry will create partnerships to implement smart city project in 10 cities across the Kingdom as part of realizing the goals of the National Transformation Program of 2020. The highest authorities have entrusted the ministry to implement the smart city projects,” he said while inaugurating the First Saudi Conference for Smart Cities at Riyadh InterContinental Hotel organized by the ministry (Saudi Gazette).

During the study and analysis of the international smart cities components and by considering the unique features of the country, determination of Saudi Smart City dimensions in nine main areas that all serve the human: transportation, sustainable urbanization, green building, safety and security, Hajj and Umrah, life quality, environment and resources management, economy and governance.
